Weathering the storm.

Chris & Alison's intimate cliffside ceremony in Pemberton was a reflection of how "seeing how things play out" or more specifically "see how the weather plays out" really can work in your favour on your wedding day!

Alison & I met through a mutual friend; Andrea. Which, might I add, is an incredibly talented photographer that I may have befriended by stealing her IG name from her business card pinned to the our townhouse complex's pinboard. I then messaged her to ask if she would be my friend as I was new to the area (I have no shame!). And apparently neither did Alison! Andrea & I's first "friend date" was to take a hike to our local waterfall to get to know each other better; to which Alison invited herself on and I am so very thankful that she did!

Chris & Alison met, as many couples in this day & age do, online! Chris being from Whistler & Alison from Vancouver he drove down for their first date (in his friends brand new dodge pickup that he borrowed to impress her) and cooked her dinner. Some long distance dating, a misplaced ring proposal and the rest, well, was history.

This couple met the challenges of planning their wedding day during a global pandemic with grace, patience and unwavering flexibility. Almost everything, right down to the weather was uncertain and yet the moment I walked into the loft where they were getting ready I was met with a wave of calm & excitement. It didn't matter if the sun was shining or the rain was falling from the sky, nothing, not even covid, would ruin their wedding day. The intimate wedding atop a cliffside plateau overlooking Pemberton valley with the enormity of Mount Currie behind them was a true reflection of their adventurous love (with windswept hair included!) The support, comfort & bond of their family was represented by the warmth of the glowing fire pit, a family style dinner & laughter erupting from a traditional game of beer pong. Having to adhere to the health guidelines did not deter anyone from celebrating this couple; I am beyond grateful to have been chosen to capture each and every moment of this day. I hope the love & easy going nature of this couple is reflected in these images. Here is to more intimate & unique weddings and the continuation of celebrating love during this uncertain time.
